2026 Roda-thon: Celebrating 17th Years Serving the Hayward Community
Join us in keeping the rhythm of Capoeira alive in Hayward!
This March, UCA Hayward celebrates two incredible milestones: our 17 since we opened our doors and the 30th Capoeira anniversary of our founder, Mestre Recruta.
To honor this journey, we are launching our annual Roda-thon—a community-driven fundraiser to ensure our tradition remains strong, vibrant, and accessible to everyone.
Why Your Support Matters
Our festival is the heartbeat of our academy, bringing together movement, music, and community. Your contributions to the Roda-thon go directly toward:
-
A Successful Festival: Funding the production and cultural programming that makes our annual Batizado a landmark event for Downtown Hayward.
-
The Family Scholarship Fund: Providing direct financial assistance to students and families, ensuring that no one is sidelined from participating due to cost.
-
Community Impact: Sustaining our mission to provide high-quality cultural education to the youth of Hayward and beyond.
How You Can Participate
The Roda-thon is a pledge-based event where our students and teachers demonstrate their dedication in the "Roda" (the Capoeira circle). You can support our mission by:
-
Sponsoring a Student: Help an individual practitioner reach their personal fundraising goal.
-
Making a General Donation: Contribute to the overall success of the festival and our scholarship fund.
Tax-Deductible Giving: UCA Hayward is proud to be a community-focused organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law through our fiscal sponsor, Beloved Communities Network (Tax ID: 20-1037643).
Thank you for being a vital part of our community and for helping us celebrate 30 years of Capoeira in the East Bay!
