I’m excited to share that I am training for the 2026 UCA Hayward Cultural Festival at UCA Hayward this March! It is an annual celebration that brings together the power of our Capoeira community!  

Capoeira has become a huge part of my life because it represents a lifelong journey of discipline, community, and cultural expression that has fueled my passion for three decades. This year, my commitment to the art takes on a special meaning as I participate in our Roda-thon on February 12th to raise vital funds for our 2026 Batizado and Capoeira Culture Festival. This festival is the cornerstone of our year—a bridge that connects our local students in Hayward with world-class masters and the deep-rooted traditions of Brazil. By sponsoring me, you aren't just supporting a fundraiser; you are directly ensuring we can provide the workshops, music, and guest artists that make this cultural exchange possible for our community. Every dollar raised goes straight toward the costs of the festival, keeping this vibrant heritage accessible and thriving for the next generation of practitioners.

This is a pledge-based fundraiser where I’ll be putting my skills to work in the "Roda" (the Capoeira circle) to raise money for our community.
