The Civic Youth Orchestra from San Diego is one of only four youth orchestras invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in June 2024. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for everyone involved - the first time for our orchestra to play at Carnegie Hall in New York City! It's my second year with the orchestra, and I am very excited to have this opportunity at one of the greatest venues in the country and the world.
Getting there will not only require hard practice - moving the entire orchestra doesn't come cheap. Therefore, the orchestra is doing a fundraiser to raise $125,000 to make the trip to New York City, and I am doing my part. Each member of our orchestra has pledged to raise $2,500 to make this trip happen. Please consider donating to help us achieve our goal. Any amount matters and is deeply appreciated.
The Civic Youth Orchestra is a non-profit and was established in 1956, It is funded by tuition and donations. It provides a unique opportunity to learn and perform classical music in San Diego North County at a time when many schools in the area no longer have student orchestras.
