Dana Lappin grew up in the Chicago area. After graduating from Evanston Township High School with honors, she
attended Colorado State University, and later earned a Juris Doctor degree and a certificate in Environmental Law
from Chicago-Kent College of Law. She then started her career as a legislative and policy analyst for the City of
Austin’s Watershed Protection Department, a job she greatly loved.
Dana settled in the Apache Shores neighborhood of the Lake Travis area. Dana thrived while living in Apache Shores
(and the LT area at large) where she found a warm and welcoming community and made many great friends. She
loved seeing the youth of the area grow up and develop into young adults. Just as Dana herself was the recipient of a
number of economic opportunities throughout her educational life, we would like to honor her life by providing some
similar opportunities for the youth of Apache Shores.
