Starting with the first caregiver recognition event at Co-op City’s Dreiser Loop Community Center, held in partnership with AARP Peachtree Chapter 4997, Caregivers Outreach has celebrated over 300 family caregivers across New York during National Family Caregivers Month. As the caregiver community needs grew, so did we expanding into education workshops, expert talks, caregiver resource navigation, and policy advocacy to build strong support networks. Through collaborations with healthcare institutions, faith communities, and local organizations, Caregivers Outreach continues to elevate the visibility of caregivers across New York.
As the caregiving landscape evolved, Caregivers Outreach expanded its mission to include youth caregivers; children and teens who take on responsibilities beyond their developmental years.
In 2025, that pioneering work expanded into a full youth division:
Caregivers Outreach: Youth Empowerment (COYE) the first New York program fully dedicated to advancing research, resilience, and recognition for youth caregivers.
Today, Caregivers Outreach stands as a leading voice for caregivers of all ages honoring their sacrifices, empowering their journeys, and advancing the belief that caregivers need care too. We remain steadfast in our commitment to support families, elevate community well-being, and drive policy reform that promotes dignity, equity, and access for all caregivers.
