We’re thrilled to launch the second annual Charleston Day Celebrate a Scorpion Day and walk-a-thon — a celebration of community, spirit, and generosity — happening on Friday, May 1st!
To bring the energy to life, we’re pairing this exciting day with a school-wide walk-a-thon to get everyone moving for a great cause.
Here’s how you can participate:
- Make a gift and help us reach our goal. A donation of any amount counts!
- Become a Celebrate a Scorpion Advocate. Share the link to this page with classmates and friends.
- Celebrate the spirit. Wear red and blue or any CDS gear to showcase your Scorpion pride. Post on social media using the hashtag #WalkLikeaScorpion, cheer on our walk-a-thon participants, and help spread the word by tagging friends and resharing CDS posts throughout the day.
- Attend if you are in town. There will be chances throughout the day for alumni to actually “Walk like a Scorpion” and showcase their Scorpion pride at CDS. See the day's schedule HERE.

🏃♂️ Walk-a-Thon: Every Step Makes a Difference! 🏃♂️
As part of Charleston Day’s Celebrate a Scorpion Day, our students will be lacing up their sneakers and showing their scorpion spirit during a campus-wide walk-a-thon.
Supporters can choose to:
- Make a flat donation now in honor of a student’s participation.
- Pledge to give later based on the number of laps walked.
- $1 per lap = a powerful pledge, but you can pledge any amount per lap and add a pledge limit.
Every lap brings us closer to our participation goals and directly supports the CDS experience.
How to Support the Walk-a-Thon:
- TO GIVE NOW: Click on one of the blue buttons with donation choices at the top of this page and then follow the prompts on the check-out page.
- TO PLEDGE AND GIVE LATER: Click the blue "Make a Pledge" button at the top of the page and complete the necessary information on the check-out page. We’ll follow up after the walk-a-thon with your student’s total lap count and pledge total.
