Celebrate a Scorpion Day + Walk-a-Thon is here!

We’re thrilled to launch the second annual Charleston Day Celebrate a Scorpion Day — a celebration of community, spirit, and generosity—happening on Friday, May 1st!

To bring the energy to life, we’re pairing this exciting day with a school-wide Walk-a-Thon to get everyone moving for a great cause.

Here’s how you can participate:

1. Make a gift and help us reach our goal. A donation of any amount counts towards our goal!

2. Become a Celebrate a Scorpion Advocate. Create a BetterUnite account to share the campaign with classmates and friends—you’ll even see how many clicks, gifts, and dollars your outreach generates! Advocates will score exclusive CDS swag, including our fan-favorite Scorpion socks.

3. Celebrate the spirit. Wear Red and Blue or any CDS gear to showcase your Scorpion pride. Post on social media using the hashtag #WalklikeaScorpion, cheer on our Walk-a-Thon participants, and help spread the word by tagging friends and resharing CDS posts throughout the day.

4. Attend if you are in town. There will be chances throughout the day for alumni to actually “Walk like a Scorpion” and showcase their Scorpion pride at CDS. See the day's schedule HERE.

🏃‍♂️ Walk-a-Thon: Every Step Makes a Difference!

As part of Charleston Day’s inaugural Celebrate a Scorpion Day, our students will be lacing up their sneakers and showing their #ScorpionSpirit during a campus-wide Walk-a-Thon. 

Here’s how it works:

🔁 $1 per lap = a powerful pledge

Supporters can choose to:

1. Make a flat donation now in honor of a student’s participation

2. Pledge to give later based on the number of laps walked

Every lap brings us closer to our participation goals—and directly supports the CDS experience.

How to support the Walk-a-Thon:

• To give now: Select “Give Now” at the top of the page and include the student’s name and grade in the comments.

• To pledge and give later: Fill out our short Pledge Form (linked here) and we’ll follow up after the Walk-a-Thon with your student’s total lap count.

2. Include your name, contact info, the student you’re supporting, and your per-lap pledge amount.

3. After the Walk-a-Thon, we’ll email you the total and a link to complete your gift.

No payment is required today—just your pledge of support! Every lap makes a difference and helps fuel the CDS experience.
