Thanks for signing up to volunteer for the 2026 Charleston Beer Fest. This fundraising event benefits Palmetto Community Care, formerly Lowcountry AIDS Services. PLEASE DON'T SIGN UP FOR MULTIPLE PEOPLE. WE NEED NAMES, EMAILS & TSHIRT SIZES FOR ALL! This year's festival will occur on Sat., Oct 24, 2026, at Riverfront Park in North Charleston. Evening Shifts will receive an additional Beer Fest T-shirt. We'll have a two special Volunteer Orientations to go over details, get shirts and give everyone a chance to meet and have a beer before the festival! You'll receive an email with more information.

From set-up to tear-down, we've got something for everyone looking to help Beerfest take place!
Event Set Up

Tasks:

  • You will help set up various components of the festival. 
  • You must be able to be on your feet for the entire shift and lift up to 25lbs.
  • Some of the tasks for the day include: Table Set-Up, Chair Set-Up, Hanging Banners / Posters, Tablecloths, Moving Boxes, Setting up materials, and organizing supplies.

Box Office Assistant

Tasks:

  • Assist the Box Office Manager by processing advance ticket sale orders

  • Work the ticket booth, assisting customers with the purchase of tickets as well as advance ticket sales (Will Call), and accessing the festival

  • Other duties as assigned by the Box Office Manager.

  • Follow all procedures to ensure a safe work environment and the safety of our guests.

Beer Pourer

Tasks:

  • You will be pouring samples, including in the cost of admission, OR 12oz pours purchased with an approved beer ticket.

  • You will ONLY collect approved beverage tickets.

  • All purchasers MUST have the approved wristband before they come to you.

Beer Runner

Tasks:

  • You will support the beer supply to ensure all stations remain stocked and full.

  • The vendor will instruct you on how to use the machines.

  • Guests should use their beer mugs for drinking beer.

  • Maintain the assigned activity area for cleanliness and orderliness.

Things to know:

  • Protect your feet with shoes that may withstand splashing and potential wet ground.

Merchandise Assistant

Tasks:

  • Keep merchandise organized. 
  • Use the Square app with our devices to manage merchandise checkouts. 
  • Give good customer service and do your best to stay calm and kind when things get busy. 
  • Maintain the assigned activity area for cleanliness and orderliness.

Floating Volunteer

Tasks:

  • Floating volunteers should come to the festival, prepared to work, and fill in wherever needed.

  • You will be assigned a role upon arrival based on volunteer shortfalls around the site.

  • All floating volunteers will be used in some capacity.

  • Maintain the assigned activity area for cleanliness and orderliness.

Our VIP Volunteers will help us manage the many moving parts in the VIP area, including the Swag Bar, help with the Beer station, keep the area tidy, and help our VIP guests with any questions or special needs.

Tasks:

  • You are responsible for the VIP Grove and ensuring it looks great and runs smoothly.

  • You will serve as the primary point of contact for the VIPs and vendors in this area.

  • You will report to the VIP Coordinator with any questions or concerns

  • You will be responsible for managing the area behind the music stage.

  • You will be responsible for ensuring that only authorized personnel are allowed backstage.

  • You must be able to problem-solve quickly, stay calm under pressure, work well with the general public, and provide effective management to volunteers.

  • You must interact with talent personnel only as requested; do not solicit talent for pictures, autographs, or any other favors.
