Hi! My name is Josephine Fox, and I am a violinist in the San Diego Civic Youth Orchestra (CYO). This coming June, we have the wonderful opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York together as an orchestra. CYO is one of four youth orchestras chosen to be a part of this momentous performance, and we have been working hard in preparation for our concert as we look forward to this experience.

Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I am halfway through my sixth year in CYO, and have participated in orchestra since I was five years old. Music is a creative outlet for me to express myself and pursue my passions, and my involvement in orchestra has allowed me to combine this with teamwork and community involvement. Together, we come together with our individual skills to work together as an ensemble and make music that we are all proud of. CYO has given me incredible opportunities within the fields of leadership and music performance, and playing at Carnegie Hall is the culmination of everything we have accomplished together as an orchestra.
