WarriorNOW has been working with a small group of veterans since January as part of the Trauma Challenge, a structured design where they learn how to organize, process, reflect, communicate, and understand their trauma. The intention of this group is to become comfortable with communicating a trauma story to share with others. Veterans, family members, mental health clinicians, and civilians in general are encouraged to attend. Not only does this process assist the veteran in processing their trauma but it also gives the community an opportunity to hear first hand how trauma (either childhood trauma or military-related trauma) affects people, and how telling that story helps others. It will also help in breaking down the military-civilian divide by showing that whether trauma is military-related or not, it affects us all similarly. These are not just stories of sadness and hardship; they are stories of hope, inspiration, and connectdeness. We hope you will join us in supporting these brave veterans!
Join WarriorNOW on Sunday, April 16th, 2023 from 10am - 1pm where several of these veterans will share their story on a stage in honor of Memorial Day. Lunch will be provided. While we recommend you participate in person, the event will be live-streamed on Zoom. Once you register for the event, you will receive the Zoom link.
