Why Reverb? Reverb is created when a sound occurs in a space, sending sound waves out in all directions. Similarly, the impact of your generosity carries beyond a moment in time, beyond this event and will allow Foster / Adoptive parents to Rest, Recharge & Reconnect to continue their selfless work.
In 2010, Ryan & Mandy Sheehan started their journey as foster parents. After fostering and serving in the foster/adopt community - learning the joys, pains and struggles of the system - Ryan and Mandy saw an opportunity to support families in a different way: Offering foster and adoptive parents the space to get away for a much-needed, well-deserved break to rechard and reconnect....Teaghlach Ranch was born.
Teaghlach (pronounced Chai-lukh) is an Old Irish word for family. Foster and adoptive parents are some of the most selfless people on the planet. As such, one fo the most common problems is not taking time away from the stress of their daily lives to recharge and reconnect with themselves, their significant other and similar families. This can lead to burnout/poor self-care, marriage stress, quitting foster care and feeling disconnected. At Teaghlach Ranch, we offer a high quality, resort type getaway providing that much needed time away...set in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Foster/Adopt parents stay in a private cottage where they enjoy rest and pampering. There are options for self-care and relaxation while enjoying the nature around them. The ranch is currently under construction, however we have already partnered with Porch Light Hospitality to begin serving these parents and executing the Teaghlach Ranch mission.
On May 1, 2022 Teaghlach Ranch will host it's 1st Annual Reverb event at 800Congress. The purpose of this event is to raise funds for two reasons:

To sponsor a no cost experience for various foster/adoptive parents throughout the year.

To launch our capital campaign which will help fund the ranch build-out.
Reverb will have small bites prepared by Mongers, Salty Sow, Qi Modern Asian Kitchen, Stiles Switch BBQ & Homeslice Pizza, as well as stations with wines from around the world poured by local Austin sommeliers and drinks sponsored by Tito's Handmade Vodka. The day will also feature live music by Stone & Crow, a wine pull wine wall, photo booth, and silent and live auctions hosted by Cowboy Auctioneers. Mandy Sheehan, President & Founder of Teaghlach Ranch will share the heart behind the organization.
