Why I'm Running.
I'll be running the New York Marathon this November as part of the Cancer Support Community Team. I lost my mom to metastatic breast cancer in November 2022, and since her diagnosis, I've been deeply passionate about raising awareness and support for those impacted by cancer. This race is an opportunity to run in honor and memory of my mom, and others who are currently fighting their own battle.
Why Cancer Support Community.
Throughout my mom's journey, she never felt alone. She often said, "I feel loved. I feel blessed." She felt incredibly fortunate to have an army of people surrounding her with love and support. I truly believe that the sense of community motivated her to keep fighting and played a pivotal role in helping my brother, dad and I nativage an incredibly difficult time.
My hope is that everyone affected by cancer can experience that same sense of community because nobody should have to go through this alone.
Cancer Support Community exists to make sure no one has to face cancer alone. CSC is the largest nonprofit provider of free social and emotional support for people impacted by cancer. Through support groups, educational workshops, navigation services, and healthy lifestyle programs, we help patients, survivors, caregivers, and loved ones feel supported, informed, and connected at every stage of the cancer experience.
