About Success in Challenges
Founded in Long Beach in 2001 by Rev. Dr. O. Leon Wood, Jr., Success in Challenges, Inc. is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting underserved communities through compassionate outreach and life-changing support services. We primarily serve BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) individuals and families from low-income backgrounds—many of whom are navigating complex challenges such as the foster care system, incarceration, housing instability, limited access to technology, unemployment, and lack of basic necessities.
At our core, we believe that every person deserves the opportunity to thrive. Success in Challenges acts as both a trusted resource and a powerful advocate—offering programs that build life skills, promote wellness, support academic and career development, and connect families with critical resources.
Your support directly empowers us to continue this vital work—providing safe spaces, educational opportunities, and practical tools that help individuals overcome barriers and build brighter futures. ✨
