Founded in 1934, Slipper Club was the first women's social club in Dallas and today boasts more than 500 active members. The club was founded by Mrs. Mary Blankeny Mallon, Mrs. Lavonne "Bonnie" Compton Crawford, Mrs. Lucy Jo Davis Burnett, and Mrs. Sally Dunlap Tetreau. These four Idlewild debutantes formed Slipper Club to be an organization that would promote friendships among Dallas' future female leaders. In 1995, Slipper Club expanded its mission to include community service, a charitable giving program, and became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Today, with more than 300 members, the women of Slipper Club are committed to helping lift up our community by serving Dallas-area women and children.
Annual Beneficiary
Each year, Slipper Club researches and selects a charity to serve as a sole beneficiary of them club’s fundraising efforts. Members spend the year volunteering and supporting the selected beneficiary culminiating in Slipper Club’s Annual Gala and Silent Auction & Raffle. We are honored to be partnering with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra for the 2025-2026 year. Donations to DSO provide positive change in our community through signature music education and special programming for children, teens, and adults, as well as resources for teachers and parents.
