This is a homeroom-specific fundraising page for Scottie Trot, Highland Park’s fun, active, school-wide event where students will run approximately 10,000 laps in one day to raise $30,000.

If this is your Scottie’s homeroom, click on the blue button to donate a custom amount or one of the suggested donation levels which are tied to the average 15 laps that Scotties run - exact laps will not be tracked/charged.

$1 a lap = $15

$2 a lap = $30

$3 a lap = $45

$100 = Be a Homeroom Hero

$200 = Go for Gold!

Each homeroom team is challenged to raise at least $800 (about $35-$40 per student) but they don’t have to stop there. Check out these challenges and rewards to encourage a little healthy competition.

  • Scottie Strong Bandana: Each student in homeroom teams that meets the $800 per class challenge before Scottie Trot will receive a complimentary bandana to proudly wear at the event.

  • Victory Lap: For each grade level, the homeroom that raises the most in online donations before Scottie Trot will get to kick off their grade’s run by charging through a blow up archway / breakaway sign and running a victory lap before the rest of their grade. If you or someone you know owns a fitness-aligned brand and is interested in sponsoring this year’s archway, please email nilsmarchand@gmail.com

  • Highest Grade Pizza Party: Homeroom online donations will be aggregated by grade level to see which grade raised the most. The grade that raises the most money will win a pizza party at school.

  • Turkey Trot @ Scottie Trot:  If we reach our combined, school-wide goal of $30,000 before the event, Principal Pena or Asst. Principal Puga (or both) will run a solo lap at the Scottie Trot in a giant turkey costume while the students cheer them on. Students will also get a PJ day!

Thank you for your support. Scottie Trot proceeds will be used to fund gym equipment improvements, and to support PTA’s Scotties Pay it Forward programs including a grant to MACares, a division of McCallum’s PTSA that works with AISD social workers and the Mac Vertical Team to provide emergency assistance to all 8300 families in the 13 Mac-affiliated schools (including HP).

As a unit in good standing with Texas PTA, Highland Park PTA is recognized as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c) (3) of the internal Revenue Code (Tax ID: 74-6085696).
