Support Me For Race Day
I am beyond excited to share that I’ll be running the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon with the Cancer Support Community team to honor my mom’s beautiful life and legacy.
Earlier this year, I lost my mom, Shelley Mayer Nelson, to her seven year battle with breast cancer and metastatic breast cancer. She was a force, carrying with her a radiance that captivated everyone she met. She embodied a passionate drive to care for others and an unwavering spirit of strength, hope and humor.
In learning to cope with my mom’s absence, I’ve found moments of peace while running every day in the city. As a member of the Cancer Support Community team, I’m raising money to provide support to those impacted by cancer, foster compassionate communities and promote access to care. The community focus of CSC is something I have found to resonate deeply with me as I have relied on the strength and support of others to get through my mom’s illness and now, her passing.
Thank you all for your support, I am so grateful for the opportunity to run my very first marathon for my mom.
