If you’ve ever met me, you know one thing about me: animals are my heart.
Over the years, I’ve fostered more than 35 animals, opening my home to those who were scared, abandoned, sick, or simply waiting for someone to give them a chance. I’ve driven on countless transport trips across Minnesota and even to Missouri and Alabama, helping save animals who otherwise may never have made it to safety. Every mile has been worth it.
Mending Spirits isn’t just an animal rescue to me, it’s a family and a mission I truly believe in. In fact, three of my own pets are “foster fails” from Mending Spirits: Navy, Lou, and Kitten. They were supposed to be temporary, but they found permanent homes in my heart. Along with Phoebe and Shadow, they remind me every day why this work matters.
Rescue isn’t always glamorous. It’s late nights, messy houses, tears, vet visits, long drives, and saying goodbye to animals you’ve grown to love. But it’s also watching a frightened dog learn to trust again, seeing a neglected cat finally feel safe, and celebrating when an animal finds the family they’ve been waiting for.
That’s why I’m running for Prom Royalty.
This isn’t about wearing a crown. It’s about giving more animals the chance to find safety, love, and a second chance. My goal is to raise $1,000 to help Mending Spirits continue saving lives, every dollar makes a difference, and a vote.
