A Roots & Wings Festival Event!

Come celebrate pollinators and the beauty of diversity in our communities through guided plant walks in Español, ASL, and English, led by stewards who have deep relationships with the land and community!

Participants will learn about the food forest's trees and pollinator plants, their role in the ecosystem, enjoy teas made from plants growing in the forest, and connect with one another.

Schedule

  • 9 - 9:15 am: Welcome & sign-in

  • 9:15 - 10:45 am: Pollinator walk

  • 10:45 - 11 am: Herbal teas & mingling in the Pecan Circle

What to bring

Bring a water bottle, weather protection, and any other preparations that you might take if you were going on a very gentle trail walk in the hill country.

Where to meet/parking

We meet in the Pecan Circle. Map below. Parking is difficult due to TxDOT IH35 construction. We recommend navigating to the Festival Beach Community Garden (35 Waller St) for the nearest street parking/drop-off locations. Then it's a short walk to the forest’s main entrance (29 Waller St).

Programa

  • 9:00–9:15 a. m.: Bienvenida y registro
