"The theme is GREEN!" Wondering what that means? Show your PHS Band spirit by wearing some green while we raise some green $$$! Think all styles of green, grey and white attire. Dressing up is encouraged but not required, and certainly, we want everyone to be comfortable. A prize will be given for the best dressed!
Guests are invited to help raise funds through multiple avenues, the first of which is buying a ticket to attend! There will be both a silent auction (on-line through this website) and live auction on the night of the event. There will also be a "dessert dash" as well as other fundraising opportunities throughout the night.
Where: Key Peninsula Civic Center, 17010 S Vaughn Rd NW, Key Center, WA 98394
When: Saturday, May 3rd at 5:00 PM
Why: All proceeds raised go to the Peninusla Band Booster Club (PBBC) which are used 100% in support of the Peninsula High School Band program.
What We Do: For over 15 years, the Peninsula Band Booster Club (PBBC) has fulfilled two primary roles, volunteer coordination and fundraising. The PBBC works annually to raise funds in support of the PHS band program. Money raised by PBBC is used to bridge the gap between school funding and program needs by paying for numerous program expenses - from instrument-specific clinicians to improve instrument mastery, to transportation and logistical needs for competitions, senior scholarships, and new marching uniforms (just to name a few.) Without this volunteer and financial support, the PHS band would not be able to provide the quality educational experience that has such a positive impact in the lives of so many students and our community at large.
For most students, the cost of their instrument falls on the family, but there are several instruments that are so expensive, it is unreasonable to expect the family to pick up the expense. In these situations, it is the band program that provides their instruments. Purchasing new instruments and equipment to replace broken or well-used ones is one of the single greatest expenditures required of a band program. The useful life for a band instrument is approximately ten years due to the wear incurred from constant use. The PHS band's current instruments have been well used and are showing their age. One of the PBBC's primary goals this year is to raise funds to acquire new instruments for the band.
Purchase your tickets online through May 1st or at the door on May 3rd.
