Partners in Pink are local restaurants, retailers, and businesses that host fundraising events or promotions and donate a percentage of proceeds to Project Mammogram. Project Mammogram is the primary program of the Northeast Hospital Foundation. Project Mammogram provides the following life-saving services free to the patient: Screening and Diagnostic Mammograms, Ultrasounds, Biopsies and other Breast Services.

Project Mammogram was founded in 2001 with an initial donation from the Kingwood Women’s Club. Joyce White, a nurse, and pioneer of Project Mammogram wanted to ensure that women with no resources who came to her needing help could receive a lifesaving screening regardless of their lack of insurance, having insurance with a high deductible or with income that is not low enough to qualify for Medicaid.

This ongoing program of the Foundation has served over 12,137 residents since inception, providing an average of 800 procedures per year with an average of 4-12 cancers detected per year.
