Barry's passion for the community of Deep Ellum spanned twenty years, beginning in the 1990s as a real estate agent working for the Delphi Group through the end of his life, where the city commemorated his dedication to the City of Dallas.
Of all the projects Barry championed, the Deep Ellum Bark Park, Dallas's first urban park and second dog park in the town, was Barry's proudest accomplishment. In Deep Ellum style, Barry recruited artists to paint murals of residents' dogs, installed a Bark Park sculpture and neon sign, and most importantly, he created spaces for human and pet residents to gather.
The Deep Ellum Foundation has worked tirelessly to improve Deep Ellum's Bark Park over the last few years and petition the city to rename the park Barry Annino Bark Park. Through their efforts, the Parks Department is renaming Bark Park in honor of Barry's vision and persistence to bring worthy community developments to Deep Ellum.
Please join me in supporting the park by purchasing a commemorative Barry Annino Bark Park tee shirt. All proceeds will be donated to upgrade and maintain the park.
