Join us on Friday, May 9 at 6 PM for the screening of part one and two of Laying the Foundation, a multimedia storytelling project spearheaded by Asa Featherstone, IV, chronicling Black shoppers' impact on Findlay Market over the years. Through honest portraits, interviews, and archives, it highlights the deep impact Black communities have had on the market—past, present, and future. This project is about visibility, truth, and reclaiming space in a city shaped by gentrification and change. After each screening, we will host a panel discussion to dive even deeper into the subject matter covered in the film.

About Asa Featherstone, IV:
Asa (AY-suh) Featherstone, IV is a photo-based artist, editor, and curator based in Cincinnati, OH whose work highlights the shared experiences that make us human. He prioritizes the beauty and nuance of daily Black life through narrative, exploring themes of place, rest, joy, and strife in a tone that gives voice to communities of color. His approach to photography is influenced by his homeschool upbringing, where he spent much of his formative years observing communities and asking questions about the behaviors of the people around him.
