As a leader in the anti-violence movement with more than 30 years of experience working to end sexual and domestic violence and child abuse, I have held statewide and national leadership roles, including serving as Executive Director of the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (2023–2024) and The Center for Hope and Healing (2012–2023). Earlier in my career, I served as Policy Director and Director of Membership at Jane Doe Inc., and spent 15 years with the Massachusetts Department of Social Services, where I began as a domestic violence advocate and ultimately served as Assistant Commissioner for Practice and Policy.

I have taught and provided training nationally and locally on leadership, anti-violence work, sexual assault, child welfare, community organizing and healing, antiracist practice, and leadership for women of color. For the past eight years, I have been a Senior Fellow and mentor with the Institute for Nonprofit Practice.

I am also a founding member and Board member of the Massachusetts Women of Color Network, which supports the leadership of women of color in the domestic and sexual violence field and works to address systemic barriers and bias. I am a published author, sought-after speaker and trainer, and have served on several state and national initiatives. In January 2024, I was appointed by Governor Maura Healey to the Governor’s Advisory Council on Black Empowerment and the Governor’s Council to Address Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking.

I hold a BSW from the City University of New York and an M.Ed. from Cambridge College, along with additional leadership credentials and certifications from Simmons College School of Social Work. I am also an alumna of Move to End Violence, Cohort IV.

Supporting RIA and the people we serve is the investment you want to make in 2026 and beyond. RIA services are free and customized to meet the needs of each individual. Not accepting health insurance allows us to be more flexible and cutting edge in the service space. RIAs 2025 Impact Report demonstrates why our unique service model (Therapy, Peer-Mentorship, Financial Assistance) works to help people transform lives while healing from experiences of being trafficked/ exploited in the commercial sex trade.
