Expanding Opportunity. Enhancing Lives.

Every adult deserves a place where they are known, valued, supported, and empowered to live a meaningful life.

Since opening our doors in 2022, Independent Identity has become a vital resource for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. What began as a dream has grown into a thriving community where participants build friendships, develop life skills, engage in purposeful activities, and experience a greater quality of life.

Today, demand for our services exceeds the space we have available.

As our current lease comes to an end, we have an opportunity to create something extraordinary: a new flagship facility designed specifically for the unique needs of the adults we serve.

Our new location at 8200 Cameron Road will add approximately 4,000 square feet and provide purpose-built spaces that support safety, independence, dignity, and connection. Planned improvements include:

  • Multiple sound-conscious sensory spaces
  • Four ADA-accessible bathrooms
  • An adult changing station
  • A shower and laundry facilities
  • Enhanced security and safety features
  • Larger recreation and programming spaces
  • Dedicated staff work areas
  • Increased storage and operational efficiency
  • Improved access to public transportation

This project is not simply about creating more space.

It is about creating better opportunities.

It is about ensuring that adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities have access to high-quality services in an environment designed for their success.

It is about supporting families who depend on programs like Independent Identity.

And it is about building a model that can eventually be expanded to serve more communities throughout Austin and Texas.

Campaign Goal: $704,000

Not only does this goal support expansion of space but allows cushion for transition staffing so our clients continue to recieve high quality services while we expand. Thanks to the generosity of early supporters, we have already secured significant commitments toward this goal. Every additional gift helps move this project forward and brings us one step closer to opening the doors of our new home.
