We know what we must do and we know who we need to help. The rest is up to you! If you still believe in us, please help us to help the horses.

Right now, our organization is winding down. The horses don't know this and expect every day to have full bellies, Vet care and farrier work that they have become accustomed to. We are in an urgent situation with donations.... donations that are not coming in. We can't do any of this without you!

We have unjustly lost many of our supporters to vicious lies and stories that have been purpetuated for over a year now. We've been accused of attrocities that have all been proven false but the seed of doubt was planted and many fell for it. The horses are the ones who suffer and when we are unable to pay for food for them, it makes us sit back and think. We think about all the good we have done over so many years, all the lives that have been saved and how many horses are currently living wonderful lives because of HiCaliber Horse Rescue. We have never diverted from our mission, which is to save those that cannot save themselves.

When we think back on the way things have come about, we do realize that there are things we could have done differently. First off, we should have had much more focus on the adoptions and the importance of find homes for the horses. As a volunteer run organization, we are not perfect. Volunteers come and go, and can't be held to the same standard as an employee can. Adoptions should have been a priority and instead, because of trying to handle all there is to do at the ranch, we had well meaning volunteers that simply made it almost impossible to adopt a horse. This is our own fault for not picking up on this more quickly. That has changed and for the better. There is a new flexibility that has been infused into the adoptions process and it's working well. When you can adopt out 55 horses in a months time, you quickly realize what actually CAN be done.

Over the years, so many horses have been helped and there are still thousands more that are in horrible situations just waiting to be saved. Calls are made to us everyday, asking for help for horses that need medical attention right away and even euthanasia. Sometimes, the last act is the kindest for the animals. It is also the hardest on us. The entire team has put on a brave face for the sake of the organization and volunteers for years but there comes a point where you can't do anything but cry. Mostly, this is done in the privacy of our homes but don't think for a minute that we are not deeply affected by what we see day in and day out. But how do you just close your eyes or walk away when people are reaching out ot you for help?

We don't know what the future holds for us but right now we are trying our best to keep functioning and provide for the horses in our care. This is where the Village comes in to play. We need you, now more than ever. We have hay bills, feed bills, Vet bills ... way to many bills to list. We need to pay them off. We need to provide for all the horses until they find homes. We will NOT walk away from them.

Recently Paypal came out with increases in their fees to both the general public and non-profits. We can't afford to lose a dime of our donations to unnecessary fees. We have found a new fundraising platform and funds processor that will allow your donations to go directly where they are intended. We also now have the ability to accept donations by text message! These are all things that we have been working on in order to serve the horses better.

To TEXT A DONATION:  When using this feature for the first time: Send a text message to 1-760-389-1633, your name is fine, and then follow the instructions that you recieve. One of the Villagers was kind enough to check it out for us and make a donation and they said it was super easy and took less than a minute.

If you want to take advantage of one of the special offers we have, please be sure to select it before making your donation!  We don't want you to lose out on a great opportunity!

The other way to donate is directly through this fundraiser.  We are no longer using Paypal. The new processor will accept debit cards, foreign credit cards and all Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express cards. ALL donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.
