At Fresh Start, we have been supporting people living with mental illness Washtenaw County for almost 25 years to find belonging, a renewed sense of purpose, and break cycles of isolation through engaging in an intentional community.
Since 2020, Fresh Start's community has been through a lot of change and has made some really tough choices. We've seen amazing people come and go, made new friends, and grieved family. But if you come into our clubhouse you'll see three things: resilience, bravery, and perseverance. Everyone here chooses to be a part of their own recovery and to build each other up. At Fresh Start we're all colleagues, and there are no clients or patients, we are members because this community belongs to us.
With your support we are growing our impact as the first stand-alone, independently operated Clubhouse in Michigan. Fresh Start is open to any adult with mental illness in Washtenaw County, regardless of what insurance they have or where they receive their clinical mental health services. This is a huge step for mental health in our community and across Michigan.
Your gift to Fresh Start you will be providing access to both virtual and in person programs, social programs, education support, vocational opportunities, health and wellness and many other resources. Finding the right mental health care can be a real struggle–about 38% of Michiganders who live with mental illness are unable to get care. Together with your help, we can change this.
