Etz Chaim Synagogue is a religious organization in Jacksonville, Florida. Tax id (EIN) is 59-0931261. It was granted tax-exempt status by IRS in November, 1994.
In 1947 a few dedicated men agreed that there should be an Orthodox congregation in Jacksonville. Private homes were used to conduct services until a vacated former Boys Home was purchased and used as a synagogue. This was the beginning of Etz Chaim.
Today, maintaining the tradition and spirit on which Etz Chaim was founded, the shul is dedicated to providing a spiritual setting for the growing Jacksonville Jewish population. They are committed to outreach, providing classes and programs to our congregants as well as providing a home for those who are searching for greater depth in Judaism.
To establish and maintain a place at which the members can study, worship and hold divine services in accordance with Orthodox Jewish traditions; To uphold the principles of the United States Government and the traditions of Judaism; To encourage the highest ethical conduct by members; To teach the members and their children the heritage and orthodox traditions of the Jewish religion; and to promote fellowship and goodwill among the members and between the members and the rest of the community.
