Overview

What is a salt marsh? Why are marshes important to the environment? Join us for Mysteries of the Marsh to find out & explore the Preserve!

Participants in this program will explore trails and salt marshes along the Indian River Bay. As a group, we will discuss different plants and animals that call the salt marshes at the James Farm Ecological Preserve home!

This program is geared towards adults, as there is a large information portion to the program, but participants of all ages are always welcome!

Participants will be walking along trails, so please wear appropriate clothing and shoes, closed-toe shoes are encouraged. Don’t forget to bring water, sunscreen, and insect repellent, as the Preserve can be buggy at times.

Important Notes:

Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

This program is weather permitting.

Attendance is free, but registration is encouraged. We reserve the right to turn away walk-ups if necessary.

For the privacy and comfort of our participants, staff, and volunteers, video or audio recording is not permitted during our programs. Guests are welcome to take photographs, but we ask that you do so in a way that respects the privacy of others. Thank you for helping us keep our programs safe and welcoming for everyone.
