"Lydia Taylor is a born and raised Kansas Citian. Her parents, Paul and Pamela Taylor raised her and her siblings in Overland Park, Kansas. Lydia has been preparing for this moment performing in front of audiences of all sizes (really, just anyone who would watch), unapologetically, since birth.
She attended Ascension Catholic School and Saint Thomas Aquinas High School where she conveniently captained the Saints cheer squad gaining more relevant experience. She then went on to graduate from the University of Kansas where she trained to be in front of the camera in the William Allen White Journalism School and really put in the hours on the Hawk dance floor (a college-favorite bar).
Lydia is the host of Afternoons on Q104 (3-7pm M-F). She has experience working with many of the KC sports teams and leagues you know and love (Royals, Mavericks, KU, KC Current, and the BIG 12). Whether she’s on the radio, side-line, in-stadium, or planning and supporting events benefiting local community organizations, Lydia has built her career based off of her passion for her city. She loves sharing her life, spreading positivity and joy, keeping up on everything KC.
Lydia was first introduced to Cristo Rey through her relationship with Matt Sharples and Christina Ricci. She is honored (and well prepared) to be dancing in this year’s event. Lydia believes it is an incredible opportunity to be a part of the great impact that Cristo Rey brings to her beloved local community. "
