The Dance for Freedom Dance Team is for all dancers ages 12 and up who want to make a difference to end human trafficking. The 2025-2026 Dance Team will go from May 2025 - March 2026 and will feature several opportunities for dancers to represent Dance for Freedom at a variety of performances, including doing the opener and finale at the Dance for Freedom Showcase on February 28, 2026. 

Rehearals start on May 9, 2025, with the first "pop-up" performance slated for Sunfest 2025. Practices will be held approximately once a month, with more frequent practices as we approach the Dance for Freedom 2026 Event - Dance-a-thon and Showcase on February 28, 2026.

Dancers are welcome to participate in as many performances as they are able (and are able to attend the choreography sessions or learn via video). The entire dance team will perform the opener and finale for the Dance for Freedom Showcase, and while choreography will be sent via video for those not able to attend in person, all dancers must be present for at least one in-person choreography session and the rehearsal on Friday, Febraury 27, 2026. 

Signing up for the Dance for Freedom Dance Team includes:

- Pre-registration for the 2026 Dance-a-thon on February 28, 2026

- T-shirt to wear to all performances

- All choreography and rehearsal sessions for the 2025-2026 season

- Videod choreography to practice at home

What is Dance for Freedom? Dance for Freedom is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to bringing awareness and education about the realities of human trafficking (sometimes called "modern day slavery") through the art of dance. Dance for Freedom exists to educate and empower dancers and their families to make wise choices and to make a difference in the fight against human trafficking in this generation.
