If you have never served at Mr. Darrell's, you will not want to miss this opportunity!!

Darrell is the sweetest.  If you come just to sit under the large tree and visit with him, that will be okay!  Not all of you though, we do need some workers also!  Today we will be doing some underpinning, plumbing and finishing a paint project in the master bedroom to name a few. 

It has been a while since we have been out there and Darrell needs some much-needed attention.  If you can take a few hours to come out and show him Christ's love, it would mean the world to us, him, and you - I promise!

Darrell's story:

Darrell is an elderly man (who recently lost his wife while we have been serving him) who was referred to Cornerstone by a sweet lady who now serves with CR who befriended them at the food pantry and then later would bring them groceries weekly. Darrell, being a hardworking, honest man of integrity, has always cared for his family and home with the utmost dedication. With old age comes the volume of physical limitations, and pride has grown in Mr. Collier. The very referral for CR’s support had to be delivered to Darrell exactly as it is, the body of Christ coming alongside him, as a gift from God, not of us or any man. Unfortunately, the reality of Darryl's physical limitations has brought much wear to the home. Some of the major issues are exacerbated when it rains. The Colliers have numerous things they need assistance with, but first and foremost is getting their home watertight to mitigate the need for any further repairs. Due to the way the home is designed, gutters would help redirect the water from flowing down the siding and the side of the house and allow for other repairs to be pursued. Walking into the home is something of a game of risk, as there are multiple holes, loose boards, and a hardware array. As we begin to build a relationship with the Colliers, especially Darrell, the list of repair needs is building, but the roofing, structural, and carpentry needs will be met first.
