Help us make some trail magic at Treads for Trails!

On October 3, Cloud City Wheelers is transforming the Timberline Trails into an enchanted forest for a backyard-ultra-style bike, run, and hike-a-thon supporting trails and outdoor spaces throughout Leadville and Lake County.

We’re looking for magical creatures of all kinds to help bring the day to life—before, during, and after the event! Opportunities include spreading the word as a Poster or Facebook Fairy, managing music as a Jukebox Troll, serving food as a Griller Gnome, cheering from the course, counting miles as a Lap-Tracking Leprechaun, and more!

Whether you can give a few hours, help behind the scenes, or spend the day adventuring with us, your time makes a real difference. Every volunteer helps us create a fun, welcoming event while raising crucial funding for CCW’s professional trail crew, ongoing maintenance, trail improvements, tools, materials, and future trails!

No special experience is required. Costumes, enthusiasm, and enchanted-forest energy are highly encouraged!

PRE-EVENT: POSTER FAIRY; LEADVILLE

Distribute posters at Leadville businesses and community spaces. Keep a list of locations.

Must be complete by EOD 9/26.

PRE-EVENT: POSTER FAIRY; SUMMIT COUNTY

Distribute posters at Summit County (Frisco, Dillon, Silverthorne, Breck) buisnesses and community spaces and track where they are placed. Must be complete by EOD 9/26.

PRE-EVENT: FACEBOOK FAIRY

Share the event in hiking, running, biking, outdoor, family, and community Facebook groups. Must be complete by EOD 9/26. Post copy and media assets provided.

SETUP SPRITES: 7:30–9:00 a.m. FULL

Shift: 7:30–9:00 a.m.
Set up tents, tables, chairs, decorations, registration, signage, games, grill area, etc.

REGISTRATION WIZARDS: 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Check in participants, assign bibs, confirm waivers, answer basic questions, and explain the lap-tracking process.
Keep registration materials organized and direct participants to the start area.

LAP-TRACKING LEPRECHAUNS: 8:45 a.m.–1:15 p.m.

Record each participant’s bib number and completed laps/miles.
Help reconcile lap and mileage totals at the end of each shift; enter into data base as needed
The 15-minute overlap allows for a careful handoff so no laps disappear into the enchanted forest.

Upload or transfer photos to CCW following the event by end of weekend; no editing required
