Have you seen someone cycling at night and felt worried about their safety? The Bright Bikes Fund is a mutual aid initiative led by the Central Indiana Cycling Advocacy Committee that provides high-quality, high-visibility safety gear—such as bike lights and reflective tape—to cyclists in need across the Indy metro region.

Many people rely on bicycles as their primary mode of transportation, and some must ride at night when visibility is significantly reduced and safe infrastructure may be limited or unavailable. This creates a serious safety risk. We are working to address this issue by ensuring that more people who are biking have access to essential visibility equipment that can help prevent crashes and save lives.

Donations to the Bright Bikes Fund are used to meet safety equipment needs as they arise, getting critical gear into the hands of cyclists who need it most.

Here’s how much these safety items cost:

• $20 - one set of bike lights
• $50 - reflective vests for five people
• $150 - one roll of reflective tape for 150 people
