The Capital Area Parkinson’s Society (CAPS) was founded in 1984 to address the needs of people with Parkinson’s disease, their families, friends and carepartners.
Starting with a small, dedicated group, CAPS has grown to over 700 members. CAPS is a primarily volunteer powered, 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving the greater Austin area.
The mission of the Capital Area Parkinson’s Society is to provide education, current information regarding research and resources, social interaction and emotional support to persons with Parkinson’s disease, their carepartners, and the public.
The Capital Area Parkinson’s Society is led by an Executive Director and an active Board of Directors. Many serving on the Board have been directly impacted by Parkinson’s Disease.
We understand the importance of education and information, personalized support, social interaction, and community resources for those dealing with Parkinson’s.
