Run with Purpose. Run with Community
I am an active duty Marine, running the 51st Marine Corps with Team CSC United. I decided to run with Team CSC United because 2025 was the year that cancer touched my family again and again, and the year that reinforced just how much community matters.
In early 2025, my new wife was diagnosed with breast cancer, less than two months after our wedding. As a new husband, I felt lost and powerless to help her, but I found strength through community. The friends I made throughout my time in the Marine Corps, the friends my wife made throughout her life, and our families all banded together to provide us with the support we needed to help my wife successfully complete her treatment.
That same year, my father, a retired Marine, faced his own diagnosis of throat cancer and met it with remarkable courage. He took on his treatment headfirst and with a smile. After my father had started his treatment, my wife and I received devastating news. My mother-in-law, a survivor of breast and ovarian cancer, was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer. She was one of the strongest and kindest women I have ever known. I often looked to her for strength when trying to support my wife through her treatment. My mother-in-law passed away from pancreatic cancer in late 2025. Not long after, my grandmother was diagnosed with colon cancer.
Throughout all of it, our community of friends, family, and fellow cancer survivors held us up. It is because of our community that I wanted to run with Team CSC United as a way to give back and to help make sure others facing this disease have support too.

On Sunday, October 25, 2026, Team CSC United will take on the 51st Marine Corps Marathon in Arlington, Virginia—one of the most iconic races in the country.
Cancer doesn’t pause for deployments, transfers, or the demands of military life. CSC exists to ensure people have access to trusted support, real connection, and reliable resources when they need them most. Helping military, connected individuals and families feel understood, and more empowered through every stage.By running with Team CSC United, you help strengthen communities, expand access to care, and remind people facing cancer that support is always within reach.
Military families already carry so much. They move when duty calls. They navigate long separations. They shoulder the weight of service with quiet strength. And when a cancer diagnosis enters the picture, the fight becomes even heavier—appointments, uncertainty, distance from support systems, anddisruptions from daily life. Our collective team goal for 2026 is $25,000.
