Beavers Northwest will be hosting a nature walk at The Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands and Be'er Sheva Park on Thursday June 25th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm!
Participants will meet Beavers Northwest staff at the bathrooms near the boat launch in Be'er Sheva Park at 7:00pm. Free parking is available on the street and at the boat launch (8702 Seward Park Ave S, Seattle, WA). Beavers Northwest staff will lead attendees on a walk to explore beaver impacts at the Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands, and provide context on the beaver presence at the park. This is a great opportunity to see the impacts that beavers have on ecosystems, observe the plants and wildlife that thrive in beaver-modified systems, and discuss beaver coexistence in our human-modified ecosystems.
The walk will last approximately 2 hours and participants will travel a distance of approximately 1 miles on flat gravel trails. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and to dress for the weather. For best viewing of wildlife, we recommend bringing binoculars. We will have a few pairs available to borrow.
