Beavers Northwest will be hosting a nature walk at the Longfellow Creek Greenspace on Tuesday June 11th from 7:15 pm to 9:15 pm!
Participants will meet Beavers Northwest staff at the corner of Delridge Way SW & SW Graham Street at 7:15pm. Parking is available across the street at Louisa Boren STEM K-8, or on the streets nearby. Beavers Northwest staff will lead attendees on a walk to explore the greenspace and provide context on the beaver presence in the wetlands there. This is a great opportunity to see the impacts that beavers have on ecosystems, observe the plants and wildlife that thrive in beaver-modified systems, and discuss beaver coexistence in our human-modified ecosystems.
The walk will last approximately 2 hours and participants will travel a distance of approximately 1 mile on flat gravel trails. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and to dress for the weather. For best viewing of wildlife, we recommend bringing binoculars. We will have a few pairs available to borrow.
