Since 2019, BCI’s annual golf outing has honored Jim Lang — a dedicated mentor, passionate advocate, and former BCI board president whose leadership and belief in our mission helped create lasting opportunities for people with disabilities. His legacy continues to inspire the work we do every day.
Now, we’re proud to carry that tradition forward with the newly named BCI Legacy Golf Tournament once again presented by Slalom and the introduction of the Jim Lang Legacy Award. The award honors individuals who reflect Jim’s spirit of service, leadership, inclusion, and commitment to empowering others.
This exciting new chapter also brings expanded opportunities to participate and make an impact. With a new date, new location, and play on two courses, the tournament will welcome more golfers, supporters, and champions of BCI’s mission, bringing our community together to celebrate Jim’s legacy and create new opportunities for the people we serve.

This year, BCI is honored to present the inaugural Jim Lang Legacy Award to Chuck Blossom, recognizing his outstanding leadership, dedication, and lasting impact on BCI and the adults with disabilities we serve.
Chuck’s journey with BCI began as a businessman who recognized the organization’s ability to deliver exceptional quality. He later joined the BCI Board and became CEO in 1999, bringing a unique combination of business expertise and passion for BCI’s mission.
Under Chuck’s leadership, BCI experienced tremendous growth, significantly expanding its contract packaging business, overall operations, and employment opportunities for adults with disabilities. He also helped expand BCI’s operations into Lincoln County and create new pathways to community-based employment.
Most importantly, Chuck helped shape a culture centered on recognizing and maximizing each individual’s unique abilities, rather than focusing on disabilities. That philosophy remains a defining part of BCI today and represents one of Chuck’s greatest legacies.
Chuck’s leadership and commitment to empowering others embody the very spirit of the Jim Lang Legacy Award. We are proud to honor him for the lasting difference he has made for BCI and the people we serve—and grateful for the legacy he continues to build.
