As we look to restore our historic church to its former splendor, Welcome Chapel has found new and innovative ways to fund its ongoing project(s). The Fellowship Dining Hall where Welcome has been known to serve wonderfully delicious elaborate celebration dinners (see pictures below) and Welcome Housing, the building next door are currently under renovation. Our goal was to complete our commercially-designed kitchen, bathroom facilities, and office-space in Welcome Housing. These projects are crucial to our service to the community through our Lunch Box and Food Pantry Program, Rev. Mary E. "Nana" Wallace "Meal of Love" Thanksgiving Day Dinner, and a host of activities the church is committed to that supports our Capital Region neighbors. Project work had been slowed due to COVID, but our contractor is not to be deterred. He works tirelessly to ensure that something gets done, even if he has to do it alone. His fortitude and commitment aligned with the spirit of the Welcome Chapel membership, who have a mind to work; the idea of a silent auction was born.
The Welcome Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Live Auction is an opportunity for our friends and neighbors to sow a seed into the future of our renovation projects. And do not forget how much "fun" an auction can be for all.
Thank you for being a part of our silent auction, enjoy and have fun!!!!!
Building Fund Project (#1 Renovation of Dining Hall)

Welcome Chapel Missionary Baptist Church has assumed the Thanksgiving Day Meal service and delivery in honor of Pastor Wallace and is in the process of renovating the kitchen to a commercial kitchen to allow for the service to be done in greater quantity with efficiency and ease. The annual Rev. Mary E. "Nana" Wallace Thanksgiving Day Meal of Love is growing and Welcome will continue with the support from her family, Welcome Chapel, and friends from our sister churches. We served over 70 people last year and are already taking orders for 50 people this year. An industrial-sized kitchen and remodeled dining hall will allow for Welcome to serve with the appropriate COVID restrictions.

Some of the items (hats) that are being auctioned belonged to the effervescent and energetic, Rev. Mary E. Wallace. Style and grace adorned this woman of God who boldly proclaimed the gospel to all whom she met. She also reminded all who came in contact with her that "size" was no limitation; no, not for her. When she corrected you, it was done in love.

1 Corinthians 2:9 says, "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." And we believe that God has a plan for Welcome Chapel and while we yet wait patiently for his revelation; we have a mind to work.
