Helping Refugee Families in Southern California

For many refugee families arriving in Southern California, the first months of resettlement are marked by uncertainty. Homes are often empty, jobs are still being secured, and basic necessities like beds, refrigerators, and food can be difficult to obtain. Since 2009, Voice of Refugees (VOR) has been walking alongside these families, helping them stabilize and rebuild their lives through practical care and relational support.

A critical part of this work is our ministry truck. Each week it allows us to rescue and deliver food, transport furniture to families in need, and move equipment required for outreach programs across the region. Unfortunately, our current truck is reaching the end of its life. It is leaking, requires constant maintenance, and the liftgate used for loading heavy items is becoming unreliable. To continue serving families safely and consistently, we must replace it.

We are launching the Hope on Wheels Campaign to raise $75,000 to purchase a reliable used box truck with a liftgate. This vehicle will allow us to continue delivering essential items to families and supporting outreach efforts across Orange County and nearby communities.

The impact of this truck is significant. In 2025 alone:

  • More than 300 families received food assistance, totaling over 250,000 pounds of rescued and purchased produce distributed to families who are newly resettled, widows struggling to make ends meet, and elderly individuals facing health challenges.

  • More than 40 families received essential furniture, helping transform empty apartments into safe and stable homes. Deliveries included 8 baby cribs for new mothers, 17 mattresses for newly arrived families, 15 bed frames, 9 dining tables, 14 couches, 11 dressers, 4 refrigerators, and 3 desks, along with more than 50 additional household items.

  • More than 1,000 individuals were served through outreach events made possible by the mobility of our truck. These gatherings include Women’s Day celebrations, Thanksgiving and Christmas events, community picnics, and many other outreach initiatives that bring hope and connection to refugee families.

This truck is not simply a vehicle—it is a tool that allows us to bring care, stability, and dignity directly to refugee families where they live.

We invite individuals, churches, and community partners to help us reach this goal. A new truck will ensure that Voice of Refugees can continue delivering food, furniture, and hope to families who need it most.

Campaign Goal: $75,000

Together, we can keep this mission moving forward.
