The Joel Holcomb Memorial Dorm

Dreaming of a Dorm Campaign is raising funds at Shelter Children's Home in Ngong, Kenya to replace delapidated sleeping quarters. The dorm will be named the Joel Holcomb Memorial Dorm in honor of the late HRS True Hope President.

The new dorm will have 2 wings that include a total of 72 beds housed in 18 rooms with 2 bunk beds (4 beds) per room. In addition, there is a baby/toddler room, 2 House Mother rooms and a sick bay. There are 2 washrooms, located at the end of each wing with 6 toilets and 6 showers in each. A lobby and study room is located in the center of the facility between the two wings. The facility also includes a laundry room.

The Shelter has between 65 to 85 girls from small babies to teenagers. The girls need warmth in the winter, private bath areas and clean and safe housing all year round. This campaign will provide the girls with a dorm giving them a sense of belonging and the hope they need to feel safe and loved. Please consider giving to help to these girls. Their smiles will thank you for many years to come.
