Party with a Purpose is HeartGift’s largest annual event, bringing together hundreds of supporters for an unforgettable evening dedicated to giving children a chance at life. Funds raised from this event help provide life-saving heart surgery for children with congenital heart defects around the world. Our volunteers play a huge role in making this event possible.

Volunteering at Party with a Purpose is a fun and meaningful way to support HeartGift’s mission. From helping prepare the event space to welcoming guests and assisting with checkout, volunteers help create a seamless and memorable experience for everyone attending. Every role helps make the night successful and ultimately helps save children's lives.

Shift: 9 AM – 1 PM (4 Hrs.)
Assist with preparing the registration and check-in area before guests arrive. Responsibilities may include setting up signage, organizing bid paddles, arranging guest materials, and preparing iPads and registration tables.
Volunteers may be asked to assist with tasks outside the specific role listed depending on event needs.
Help prepare the welcome reception space by placing décor, photo opportunities, signage, and materials. Volunteers will assist with final touches to ensure the area is ready for guest arrival.
Assist with preparing the main ballroom for the evening’s program. Tasks may include placing table materials, signage, stage decor, and other event elements.
May involve moderate lifting.
Help prepare the after-party area. Responsibilities may include setting up décor, photo opportunities, signage, and preparing the space for the late-night celebration.
Assist with preparing the VIP reception space prior to guest arrival. Volunteers will help arrange décor, photo opportunities, signage, and materials to ensure the area is guest-ready.
Shift: 9 AM - 11 AM (2 Hrs.)
Provide general support to the HeartGift team during event setup. Volunteers may assist with décor placement, displays, signage, and other final preparations as needed.
Shift: 12 PM – 3 PM (3 Hrs.)
Help the band unload equipment and transport instruments and gear to the stage.
Heavy lifting required.
Shift: 4 PM – 6:30 PM (2.5 Hrs.)
Welcome guests and assist with event check-in. Volunteers will help locate guest registrations, distribute bid paddles, and answer basic questions to ensure a smooth arrival experience. This role uses iPads for guest lookup and check-in, so volunteers should be comfortable using basic technology and navigating an iPad.
Welcome guests as they arrive and help direct them to registration, cocktail areas, or other event spaces. This role helps create a warm and welcoming first impression.
Shift: 6:30 PM – 10:30 PM (4 Hrs.)
Assist with preparing the event space for the after-party while the gala program is underway. Tasks may include resetting areas, organizing décor, and preparing late-night spaces.
Interact with guests to be sure they recieve their late night snack and valet gifts
Shift: 8 PM – 11 PM (3 Hrs.)
Assist guests with checkout at the end of the evening. Volunteers will help answer guest questions and ensure a smooth checkout process.
Must be comfortable interacting with guests and using iPads/technology for checkout.
Shift: 10 PM – 12 PM (2 Hrs.)
Help pack up event materials at the end of the evening. Volunteers will assist with collecting signage, décor, and packing event supplies for transport.
Moderate to heavy lifting may be required.
Help the band load equipment back into vehicles at the end of the evening.
