About our Event
Fernando Arroyo
Chief People Officer, Waco Family Medicine
Fernando Arroyo keeps people, purpose and culture in harmony at Waco Family Medicine. Known for connecting the dots between healthcare, education, economic opportunity and community voice, he’s passionate about building stronger communities. Born in Campeche, Mexico, and raised in Central Texas, Fernando is also a percussion-playing, iced coffee-drinking bedroom DJ with a playlist full of 90s R&B, funk, Afro-Latin and EDM. Whether he’s raising koi and chickens or attempting a Yucatec recipe, Fernando always brings plenty of rhythm—and occasionally a few off-key notes.
Dr. Kristen Padilla
Director, Baylor Center for Disability and Flourishing
Dr. Kristen Padilla wears more hats than most people have closet space for. As Director of the Baylor Center for Disability and Flourishing, she’s a professor, researcher, school psychologist, behavior analyst, grant wrangler, community advocate and proud South Waco native. When she’s not improving services for individuals with disabilities and their families, you’ll find her cheering on her kids, planning community events or traveling the world. Her work centers on research and data. Her karaoke strategy centers on enthusiasm, audience participation and the hope that confidence counts for extra points.
