Festival founders, Abby and Sara, grew up in Claremont, CA, nicknamed  “the city of trees and PHDs.” It was here that they were immersed in a very unified community that practices two unspoken rules: respect others, and respect nature. Abby and Sara are concerned that climate change disproportionately affects black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC). They feel that it is essential that the voices of these communities are heard within the conversation of climate activism. They also believe that the arts can raise awareness to these issues and can call people to action. With this in mind, the two have come together to create uneARTh Art Festival: a multimedia festival that utilizes various mediums of art as a vehicle for societal change. 50% of the entire proceeds from the event will go back to selected artists, and 50% will be donated to Climate Resolve, a non-profit organization committed to collaborations to champion equitable climate solutions.
