In Loving Memory of Susan

Susan was my friend. We met years ago through golf. Go figure. We both shared a passion for this incredibly frustrating game that mirrors how life can be at times. I think every avid golfer can attest to that. Every time I talked with Susan she always told me how special I was for the work I was doing. She truly made me feel special. Her passion for the cause was another thing we shared too... and sometimes that is all it takes. Golf and a shared mission which created an immediate friendship. I just wish I could see that sweet smile in person one more time. The last time I saw Susan a couple months ago, we shared a long embrace that I will never forget. I just didn't know I was saying good bye..

Susan had a passion for life—she loved great food, the game of golf, and most importantly, people. She had a way of making others feel seen, valued, and cared for. Her kindness and generosity were not just words, but actions that touched countless lives. She was direct too, you knew how she felt and she made you feel extra special because of that.

What made Susan so special to Tony Foundation was her heart for the mission. She didn’t just believe in what we do—she lived it. Susan cared deeply about families walking through a cancer diagnosis and understood the real, everyday burdens they face. She was passionate about helping us raise funds so that no family would have to choose between fighting cancer and keeping a roof over their head, food on the table, or the lights on.

Because of supporters like Susan and all of her loving sisters at Sonterra, we were and still are able to provide immediate financial relief to families in their most difficult moments.

This giving page is created in Susan’s honor—to carry forward the impact she cared so deeply about. Every dollar given here is more than a donation; it is a continuation of Susan’s legacy. It is a way to stand beside families fighting cancer and remind them they are not alone.

Susan touched so many lives, and she certainly touched mine. Her spirit, her smile, generosity, and love for others will never be forgotten. We are heartbroken by her passing and lift up her loved ones in prayer during this incredibly difficult time.As we remember Susan, we invite you to honor her life in the most meaningful way we know—by giving back to families fighting cancer, just as she so passionately did.
