February 28th | 10am - 4pm

Instructor: Shametra Rozzel

Whether your sewing machine is fresh out of the box, has been tucked away in the closet for years, or was lovingly passed down from family or a friend, this class will help you build confidence and comfort behind the machine that might feel a bit daunting to plug in and learn on your own.

We’ll move step-by-step through everything you need to start sewing with ease: understanding machine functions, threading your machine, winding a bobbin, adjusting tension, exploring stitches, and practicing basic sewing techniques.

By the end of class, you’ll know how to troubleshoot common issues, sew clean, simple seams, and feel ready to take on beginner projects with independence and creativity!

Instructor Bio: Shametra is a multi-dimensional artist that intersects all aspects of design with various healing modalities of the physical form. Raised in Cleveland, Ohio, immersed in the world of art through both parents, she continued on a creative path by receiving a B.F.A in Fashion Design at Kent State University. There she found the textile studio which sparked a focus on studying the interrelationship of textiles and fashion design. Shametra has over 15 years of sewing experience and knowledge from machine function to making functional clothing!
