Saturday, March 14th 10am-4pm

Instructor: Romy Anderson

Learn how to dye your warps for your next weaving project in this hands on class. Participants will explore how to paint dye on cotton warps and skeins using MX dyes, and experiment with ikat resist techniques.

The workshop will also cover different methods for dyeing a pre-woven warp, giving you creative control over your designs. We’ll begin with a light warp winding demonstration, perfect for those who are new to the process.

Instructor Bio: Romy Anderson is a textile artist based out of Northeast Ohio and attended Kent State University obtaining a BFA in Textiles. Romy has always had a love for visual arts, math, and color. Weaving turned out to be the perfect combination of these passions. Specializing in double weave with painted warps, Romy delves into the fundamental grid created by the loom. Drawing from architecture and travel, her weavings also explore the interaction of color while deconstructing the illusionistic aspect of spaces. In addition to her personal practice, Romy is an Instructor and Studio Manager at Praxis Fiber Workshop.
