About Power of the Purse
Grab your friends and join United Way of Midland for a girl's night out at the 11th Annual Power of the Purse! The event will feature eight rounds of BINGO for designer purses, shopping from locally owned businesses, a raffle for a high-end bag, dinner and desserts, and more. As we enjoy a night of fun and games, United Way will honor Kelsie Rasure with the 2026 Women's United award.
More than just a celebration, Power of the Purse plays a vital role in supporting United Way of Midland’s community investment efforts. Proceeds from the event fund our annual Innovative Grant program. Each year, these one-time grants support local nonprofits launching or expanding programs that improve health, education, and financial stability throughout Midland.
One recent Innovative Grant recipient was 3:11 Ministries, which provided Midland College students experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity with essential dorm supplies, including bedding, hygiene items, and technology. By helping students meet their basic needs, the program creates stability and allows them to focus on their education and future success.
By attending Power of the Purse, you’re investing in innovative community solutions that help local organizations respond to critical needs and create lasting change.
