ABOUT THE NEXT MISSION SERIES
You spent years serving. The question after service isn’t whether you still want to contribute — it’s how.
Next Mission is a quarterly series built around that question. Each event brings together a guest speaker — a veteran or veteran-led organization that has found a powerful way to serve in civilian life — to share their story, their path, and what they’ve learned. Then we open the floor: network with fellow veterans, ask the questions you’re actually wondering, and explore the opportunities in front of you.
Whether you’re freshly transitioned or years out and looking for more, this series is your room. Come ready to listen, connect, and maybe find your next mission.
FEATURING: Texas Search and Rescue (TEXSAR)
ABOUT TEXSAR
Texas Search and Rescue (TEXSAR) deploys throughout the state of Texas at the request of local, state, and federal agencies, providing highly specialized search, rescue, and disaster management resources. A large and diverse nonprofit organization with 20+ years of service, TEXSAR’s volunteers are “Texans helping Texans” — from incident management and field deployment to logistics, K9 units, and expert consulting. TEXSAR volunteers come from every walk of life — first responders, military veterans, business leaders, and outdoor enthusiasts alike — all united by a passion for service and a commitment to always be ready.
YOUR SPEAKER
Justin McInnis
President & CEO, TEXSAR
Justin joined TEXSAR as a volunteer during the 2015 Memorial Day Floods and never looked back. After serving on the Board of Directors and as Assistant Emergency Management Coordinator for Hays County, he became TEXSAR’s President and CEO in 2020. Under his leadership, TEXSAR earned the Texas Governor’s Volunteer Award for Disaster Response in 2022 and responded to major events including the 2025 Hill
Country Flood.
HEAR FROM TEXSAR VETERAN VOLUNTEERS
Justin will be joined by several of TEXSAR's veteran volunteers who will share how they found purpose, community, and a new mission through their service with the organization. Their stories reflect the power of channeling military experience into meaningful civilian service.
CONNECT. ENGAGE. GET INVOLVED.
This isn’t just a speaker event — it’s a community. The happy hour portion of the evening is designed to mix and mingle: meet other veterans at every stage of their civilian journey, swap stories, ask the real questions, and explore what might be possible for you. Curious about volunteering with TEXSAR? This evening is a soft, no-pressure introduction. Justin and the team will be here to share what TEXSAR does, what roles look like, and what this kind of service has added to the lives of veterans already involved. TEXSAR has opportunities across a wide range of backgrounds and interests:
Field deployment • Incident management • Logistics • K9 & equine • Consulting • Data & Tech
No matter where you are in your transition — just out, a few years in, or simply looking for more —there’s a seat at the table and a role worth exploring.
Come ready to listen, connect, and find your next mission.
