Introducing Feature Author #1!


Allen Eskens is the bestselling author of  The Life We Bury, The Guise of Another, The Heavens May Fall, The Deep Dark Descending, The Shadows We Hide, Nothing More Dangerous, The Stolen Hours, Forsaken Country, Saving Emma, and his latest novel, The Quiet Librarian.
He is the recipient of the Barry Award, Minnesota Book Award, Left Coast Crime Award, and Silver Falchion Award and has been a finalist for the Edgar® Award, Thriller Award, Anthony Award and Nero Award. His books have been translated into 23 languages.

 

Allen has a journalism degree from the University of Minnesota and a law degree fromHamline University. After law school, he studied creative writing in the M.F.A. program at Minnesota State University-Mankato, as well as the Loft Literary Center and the Iowa Summer Writer’s Festival. Allen grew up in the hills of central Missouri. He now lives with his wife, Joely, in greater Minnesota where he recently retired after practicing criminal law for 25 years.  Allen is represented by Amy Cloughley of Kimberley Cameron and Associates Literary
Agency.

Lorna Landvik is the best-selling author of thirteen (so far) novels, including Patty Jane's House of Curl, Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons, and Oh My Stars.  Several of her novels have been optioned for movies and TV, but have yet to be produced. 

Also an actor and playwritght, Landvik has appeared onmany stages and is currently performing as a member of Masters of Improv.  Her heritage is supposedly all-Norwegian and she's not about to take a DNA test to disprove it.

Stu Whitney worked for 30 years as a reporter and columnist at the Sioux Falls (S.D.) Argus Leader, the state’s largest newspaper, and later as an investigative journalist at South Dakota News Watch, an independent nonprofit.
His previous book credits include a novel, “The Covid Chronicles,” in August 2021 and the nonfiction “Behind the Green Curtain: The Sacrifice of Ethics and Academics in Michigan State Football's Rise to National Prominence,” published by Masters Press in 1990.
The Bob Burns project originated with a series of interviews in the 1990s that led to Whitney's Argus Leader profile of the celebrated coach and war hero in 1996. Burns died in 2000. Whitney has pored through correspondence, military records, family photos and yearbooks while also interviewing nearly 70 former players, coaches and family members to bring Burns’ fascinating life journey to this book.

He is a graduate of Michigan State University and lives in Sioux Falls with his wife, Lisa.

Occcasionally an event occures of such singnificance that if forever changes the way you precive life itself.  In November 1993 such an event occured for Paul LaRoche.  Paul, adopted at birth off the Lower Brule Sioux Indian Reservation, discovered his heritage in 1993 after the death of both adoptive parents.  He was reunited on Thanksgiving Day with a brother, sister, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.  The discovery of his true heritage has greatly affected Paul's life and those around him.  The influence on his career has been monumental.  Overwhelmed by the experience, Paul has turned his powerful feelings into humanitarian causes.  

Paul is the founder of the award-winning contemporary Native American music group Brule.  Along with his national and internationa concer tours, Paul has embarked on a series of speaking engagementts for schools, universities, cultrual conferences, spiritual seminars, and corporate clients.  Paul shares a unique perspective on living and working in modern times, incoporating traditional Lakota wisdom.  

Lakota musician and speaker, Paul LaRoche, shares his Native American philosophy on topics that apply to everyday life in modern America:  Leadership, patience, prayer.  Meditation, balance, truth.  Humility, kindness, giving.  Work, self-image, reverence.  Family and home.  Adoption, honoring, hope.  Suffering, risk-taking.  Independence, achievement.  Success.
